Our Company

Daffodils was chosen as the company name because it symbolises rebirth and new beginnings.

Our perception of this is shown in our commitment to assist the entire team responsible for the child or children. Focusing on improving and fulfilling their needs via the support and growth of those who care for them - their foster carers.

Daffodils Fostering is an independent fostering agency who offer a range of services for children looked after. Our main goal is to help children succeed and live happy lives.

The Agency operates in accordance with all current legislation:

  • Fostering Regulations 2011
  • National Minimum Standards
  • Children’s Act 1989
  • Children & Young Persons Act 2011

The Registered Manager of the agency is Anita Andrews. Anita is a qualified and Registered social work manager with substantial fostering support experience. Anita has over 16 years of extensive experience working for several organisations, including Local authorities and Private fostering agencies. This is in relation to her direct work in Children's Social Care, which includes fostering support and assessments, Kinship and Special Guardianship assessments/support and commissioning.

Anita has strategic experience managing Children Looked After placement teams and commissioning appropriate placements for Children Looked After. She has experience managing, commissioning and finance of children's placements in residential, Independent Fostering agency foster care placements and semi-independent placements.

Anita's professional skills, knowledge, and experience also include her work as a Fostering Reviewing Officer and Panel Advisor for Local Authorities' Fostering Panels. She has also overseen and managed Long-Term Permanency Work in Local Authorities, including Permanency Plans for Children Looked After.

Anita believes that providing a high standard of care for children and achieving better outcomes for them is only possible if we support, encourage, and engage with our foster carers. Anita will make sure that all foster carers are supported and involved in our supervision, training, and support plans, and that we are available to them 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

Our goals:

  • To recruit foster carers from a range of backgrounds so that we can provide placements that are appropriately suited
  • Our foster carers and employees are committed to continuous training and personal development
  • A focus to a child-centred, all-inclusive approach. When matching foster children with our carers, we would consider and respect their gender, racial, cultural, religious, and linguistic backgrounds
  • To provide support to our foster parents and children in placement to reduce the number of placement breakdowns

The Agency's goal is to assist placing authorities in completing their responsibilities to improve children's well-being in accordance with the Five Outcomes for Children.
